ศูนย์พัฒนาเขาหินซ้อน

ศูนย์พัฒนาเขาหินซ้อน ในอดีตพื้นที่บริเวณเขาหินซ้อนจังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา เป็นป่าดงดิบที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ที่สุด แห่งหนึ่งของประเทศไทย มีลักษณะภูมิประเทศ เป็นเขาหินเล็กใหญ่ทับซ้อนกันอยู่ทั่วๆ ไป

เพียงชั่วระยะเวลา 30 กว่าปีต่อมา การคมนาคมสะดวกทำให้ผู้คนเดินทางเข้าไปในพื้นที่ได้สะดวก ผลที่ตามมาคือมีการทำลายป่า เพื่อนำพื้นที่มาใช้เพาะปลูกเป็นจำนวนมาก จนทำให้ป่าที่เคยอุดมสมบูรณ์ กลายเป็นพื้นที่เสื่อมโทรม และมีปัญหาการชะล้างพังทลายของดินสูง

จนกระทั่งเมื่อพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช เสด็จพระราชดำเนินทอดพระเนตร พื้นที่ดังกล่าว และทรงคิดหาแนวทางในการแก้ไขเพื่อช่วยเหลือ หรือบรรเทาความเดือดร้อนของราษฎร โดยใช้วิชาการในหลายๆด้านประกอบกัน เป็นการดำเนินการแก้ไขในลักษณะผสมผสานของหลายๆ หน่วยงาน

จึงมี พระราชดำริให้หน่วยงานจากกรมกองต่างๆ มาร่วมกัน พัฒนาพื้นที่แห่งนี้เป็นศูนย์ศึกษาตัวอย่าง ประโยชน์ที่เกิดขึ้นได้เป็นสองทาง คือ ต้นทางซึ่งเจ้าหน้าที่ของรัฐ ได้ฝึกหัดการทำงานร่วมกัน ได้ความรู้ในการพัฒนา และ ปลายทาง คือ ราษฎรได้รับความช่วยเหลือในการพัฒนาที่ดินทำกิน ให้มีความอุดมสมบูรณ์ขึ้น อันเป็นจุดมุ่งหมายที่สำคัญ ในการจัดตั้งโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ

การบริการภายในศูนย์

ภายใน ศูนย์ศึกษาและพัฒนาเขาหินซ้อน มีบริการทางด้านที่พักโดยมีอาคารศิลารมมณีย์ เป็นอาคารสำหรับ ให้บริการทางด้านพักอาศัย โดยมีห้องพักด้วยกัน 10 ห้อง อันประกอบไปด้วยห้องเตียงเดี่ยว 2 ห้อง, ห้อง 3 เตียง 8 ห้อง ภายในแต่ละห้องมีเครื่องอำนวยความสะดวก อาทิเช่น ทีวี ตู้เย็น เครื่องทำน้ำอุ่น ซึ่งค่าเช่าห้องนั้นจะมีราคาเท่ากันคือ 600 บาทต่อคืน
